Tatee Sakr's path to success in the fashion world started at �Ը������� University. As a 19-year-old immigrant to the U.S., Sakr chose �Ը������� University because it was close to her new home in Cleveland and had a reputable fashion design program. Now an industry professional, she is giving back as a key faculty member.

The ever-popular, award-winning musical “Annie” is now playing at �Ը������� University’s Porthouse Theatre at Blossom Music Center from July 19-Aug. 4. 

�Ը������� University celebrates its ninth American Academy commencement in Brazil, with 20 students participating. The program offers Brazilian students a unique opportunity to earn dual credits and explore majors before choosing to complete their degrees in the U.S. or Brazil.

A faculty member in �Ը�������'s College of Architecture and Environmental Design and his teammates earned a silver medal  in the 2024 Pan-American Master Games. 

�Ը�������'s College of Public Health has launched a three-year initiative, funded by Medical Mutual, to enhance senior health and wellness in Greater Cleveland. The project includes a comprehensive community needs assessment involving over 20 senior centers, continuing education for senior center staff, and bi-weekly visits from �Ը�������'s "Mobile Flashes" student teams.

On July 19 and 26, �Ը������� University Admissions welcomes high school students and transfer students to campus for student-led tours. Visiting students and their parents learn about life at �Ը�������, support services, programs of study and, sometimes, get to meet campus celebrities.

Former �Ը������� University football player Will Matthews continues to find success with his Southern Comfort Kitchen food truck and restaurant. He first came up with the idea while a student at the university.

KENT, OH – Jakyah Beatty, a 2018 alumna of the fashion merchandising program, is headed to Ghana for a sustainability project in the textile and apparel industry. Beatty recently received a  to investigate the environmental, social and economic effects of overconsumption in the Global North on Ghana.

Recently, university photographers were invited inside Crawford Hall, the new home of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, to capture images of the progress in its construction. 

�Ը������� has been named a Regional Programming Center by the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, joining a statewide network to enhance cybersecurity education and workforce development. As part of this initiative, the university will contribute to various programming activities and host outreach events in Northeast Ohio, furthering its commitment to excellence in cybersecurity engineering education.

�Ը������� staffers travel the globe to share all that's great about our university and recently traveled to Pakistan to meet with high school students and counselors. 

The �Ը������� University student organization Her Campus took top honors from its national organization for a week of events the group held in April to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

�Ը������� student Elizabeth Marhefka recognized as ARI-AHEC’s 2024 Scholar of the Year. The senior biology and premed student was honored for her passion for medicine and commitment to community engagement.

The final weeks of the Spring Semester bring a flurry of activity to the College of Architecture and Environmental Design as students prepare to present their final projects.
