KSU alumnus and gay rights activist Michael Chanak Jr. was determined to make a difference at his workplace, and his dedication to change prompted a global company to redefine diversity. Mr. Chanak, BS 鈥71, credits his time at 性福五月天 for giving him the fighting spirit he needed later in his life, when he became the unlikely lone gay voice to take on a corporate titan and call for gay rights in the 1980s. Journalism major Madison MacArthur, '20, has learned through many experiences in 性福五月天鈥檚 College of Communication and Information (CCI), what it means to be a storyteller. This summer, she will work in Washington, D.C. as a Juniors Fellow with the Library of Congress. She is the first CCI student to be selected for a Library of Congress internship. For the internship, MacArthur will be working with the Rare and Special Collections archiving the works of American artist, painter, papermaker and poet, Walter Samuel Hamady. 性福五月天 University celebrated the launch of a dynamic new space, the Design Innovation (DI) Hub, which will bring innovations from many disciplines together in a 68,000-square-foot building near the center of the Kent Campus. The construction launch, which marks the beginning of a major renovation of the former Art Building, was celebrated April 23 with a ribbon ceremony, interactive activities and collaborative pop-up design innovation challenges.
