Call for proposals for the Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series
Created to honor the legacy of Jerry M. Lewis, emeritus professor of Sociology, and to advance the scholarship of May 4, 1970 and the Vietnam War era, the Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series again seeks its annual keynote speaker. Proposals will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2023.

The Cybersecurity Team in the Division of IT is pleased to announce a new yearlong campaign to increase cybersecurity awareness at the university. At the start of each month, you will receive a short note with a link to a video covering an important cybersecurity-related topic. Gift giving season is upon us, and common gifts include smart home devices like Amazon Echo鈥檚, Google Homes, and Apple Home Pods. This month鈥檚 episode focuses on how to use these devices safely.

Equipment - Motor Control Lab
This laboratory is equipped with three custom-designed 鈥淪MART bikes.鈥 Motor function assessment tools include a Noraxon Electromyogram Core Wireless (EMG) system, the Kinesia One Motor Assessment System (Great Lakes Neurotechnology) and an electronic reaching table (designed by collaborators at Rockwell Automation). Mobility, gait and posture assessment equipment includes the Noraxon Myomotion System (wireless biomechanical sensors), a Biodex Balance System, and a Biodex Unweighing System with safety harness.

Remote dynamic cycling for customized off-site rehabilitation in Parkinson鈥檚 disease (in collaboration with Dr. Aasef Shaikh, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center)
Parkinson's disease (PD) progressively deteriorates motor function. Successful rehabilitation, leading to a favorable course of movement disorders in PD, is contingent upon frequent, regular, and patient-specific exercise regimen that is customized to the individual needs.

The Exercise Physiology/Testing Lab is primarily used for the laboratory portion of several classes offered by the Exercise Physiology department, as well as various research projects.
