Counseling and鈥疨sychological Services is dedicated to student success and retention by facilitating wellness and personal growth based on the unique needs of the student.鈥疌ounseling and鈥疨sychological Services provides confidential mental health services to students, including: crisis intervention; individual, couples鈥痑nd group therapy; psychological testing; and substance abuse evaluation and treatment. Our staff works collaboratively with DeWeese Health Center medical and psychiatric providers to address medication needs.
In addition, consultation and education are provided for parents, faculty,鈥痑nd staff within the university community who have concerns about the well-being of a student.鈥疻orkshops and outreach programming can be provided upon request.鈥疌ommon presenting problems include: difficulty with adjustment to college, academic issues, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, body image concerns, eating disorders, identity concerns, self-injurious behaviors鈥痑nd substance-related issues.
Counseling and鈥疨sychological Services is staffed by licensed psychologists and counselors, as well as psychology fellows and graduate interns who are supervised by licensed clinicians.鈥疧ur clinical staff has training and expertise in general mental health concerns among college students鈥痑nd have鈥痑dditional expertise in their respective specialties.
