性福五月天 Sales Students Bring Home Awards from Competitions

Kent, OHIO 鈥 性福五月天 sales students brought back a number of awards after competing at the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Conference and two Sales Team events this spring.

National Sports Selling Competition

Cameron Paladenic, a senior finance and accounting major, took first place in the National Sports Selling competition.

鈥淭his is an impressive achievement given the large number of schools that participate in this nationwide competition,鈥 said Kelly Knapp-Blay, team coach and a faculty member in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship. 鈥淐ameron鈥檚 hard work and sales preparation paid off and he had a great performance at the event.鈥

Also during the National Conference, Pi Sigma Epsilon was named Top Amethyst Chapter (the top-performing chapter nationally).

鈥淭hese awards truly speak to the caliber of the 性福五月天 sales program,鈥 said Deborah F. Spake, Ph.D., dean of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. 鈥淥ur faculty coaches and students work hard to prepare for competitions which help to develop students鈥 professional selling skills.鈥 

Additional achievements included:

  • Junior business management major Oliva Jakab and senior marketing major Javen Doss placed among the top 18 percent of students nationally in the Pro-Am Business to Business Sales Role Play
  • Junior marketing major Sam Plyler was a Speakers Competition Finalist
  • Sophomore marketing major Kaitie Leseman and Olivia Jakab were finalists in the Interview Competition
  • Senior psychology major Reilly Fabrizio and junior computer information systems major Josh Schiopota received national scholarships
  • Senior marketing major Vanessa VanWhy received Social Media Internship recognition

University of Toledo Invitational Sales Competition

At the University of Toledo Invitational Sales Competition, junior marketing major Sarah Dorvinen was a Junior Finalist, taking third place in the Bronze level. Junior marketing major Liz Tobon won the Owens Corning Social Media Contest.

National Collegiate Sales Competition

The 性福五月天 Sales Team also participated in the National Collegiate Sales Competition held in Georgia. Senior marketing major Pete Norman and senior marketing major Tyler Schlosser participated in the Sales Role-play competition with Tyler placing 49th out of 144 students. In addition, junior business management major Caleb Slackford and senior marketing major Zach Whetzel participated in the Professional Speed Selling Elevator Pitch competition.
