After planning and supporting hundreds of ceremonies and events at �Ը�������,  Lisa O'Connell, director, University Events & Protocol got a graduate's-eye view of Summer Commencement ceremonies as she walked the stage to receive her graduate degree as part of �Ը�������'s Class of 2025. 

The �Ը������� University alumni family grew by more than 1,000 new graduates from its eight-campus system across Ohio as the university held its summer commencement ceremony. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2025 were recognized with a commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Aug. 9. 

Olivia Jákli earned a master's degree in computer science in 2024 after initially earning a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising in 2015. She recently encouraged others to embrace calculated risks by sharing insights from her career transition journey.

This summer, a group of �Ը������� students enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime education-abroad experience in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. 

Acclaimed New York fashion designer Christian Siriano told �Ը������� University School of Fashion students to practice their craft with dedication, accept criticism and learn from it, but to remember that they will never please everyone.

Honor is not only an attitude; it’s an action. As it is given and received, it profoundly improves the lives of all involved.

Students visiting �Ը������� from University Hospitals Future Nurse Academy engaged in hands-on activities guided by faculty from �Ը�������'s College of Nursing. 

"School of Rock: The Musical" by Andrew Lloyd Webber runs from July 18 through Aug. 3 at �Ը�������'s Porthouse Theatre. 

�Ը������� University alumnus Antonio Gates was officially enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 2, delivering an emotional speech that highlighted his years as a Golden Flash and thanked the coaches who helped launch his improbable journey from college basketball to NFL stardom.

The LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation is thrilled to announce “LeRoy Neiman: A Keen Observer of Style,” opening at �Ը������� University Museum on Oct. 24, 2025. 

The Mathematical Sciences Building reopened Aug. 6. following a basement fire the week prior.  Six local fire departments responded after a transformer began smoking.

As part of the �Ը������� University Museum's 40th Anniversary celebration, the museum will display the exhibition "Sparkle: The Style and Jewelry of Aileen Mehle" in its Higbee Gallery from July 18, 2025, through Aug. 23, 2026. 

Two �Ը������� University alumni will be in the spotlight this week as the Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrates its Class of 2025, with Antonio Gates set for enshrinement Saturday and Mary Kay Cabot receiving prestigious recognition for her four decades of sports journalism excellence.

Dedicated in April 2015, The Student Memorial Garden on Manchester Field was created as a place of reflection and remembrance of all �Ը������� students who have died. 

Copley High School senior Grant Hyne developed Hammock Hangout on the Kent Campus as part of an Eagle Scout service project.

Orange barrels will soon appear on a three-quarter-mile stretch of Ohio Route 59/East Main Street that runs through �Ը������� University’s Front Campus, marking the start of a three-year construction project to make the thoroughfare safer and more attractive.

�Ը�������’s Annual Environmental Science and Design Research Institute Research Showcase offers an opportunity for student researchers to present posters showcasing their explorations and findings in all areas of environmental research and design. 

The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience is a great opportunity for undergraduate researchers such as Ethan Wenk to work directly with a faculty mentor, gain valuable experience to clarify career and educational goals, enhance research skills and gain academic insight.

This summer, artists from the region, �Ը������� and around the world came together for a transformative two weeks of Kent Blossom Art Intensives.
