May is Exercise and Movement Month

We're coming out of winter hibernation so it's time to stretch, move and exercise! This month, the Employee Wellness team is pleased to bring you a variety of webinars and events related to exercise and movement. Explore offerings like:


  • May 5, 10-11 a.m.

  • May 7, 10-11 a.m.

  • May 11, 2-3 p.m.

Don't forget that Tier 2 points can be earned in a variety of categories related to movement and exercise: Exercise Tracker, Group Exercise, Personal Training, Move for a Cause. So get moving!

Recorded Wellness Webinars on CANVAS

Did you miss a wellness webinar and still want to earn points for watching it? Wellness webinars are now recorded and available on CANVAS. Full-time, benefits eligible employees can take a quiz after watching recorded videos to earn 10 Tier 2 points. If you don't see the course on your CANVAS dashboard, you can self-enroll using the link below.

 

Save the Date: American Heart Association Heart Walk

June 6, 2026

It's time to unite, take action and save lives. Our goal is to have one person in every household confident and prepared to perform CPR. The American Heart Association invites YOU to join the Heart Walk to broaden our impact by turning bystanders into lifesavers. Register now to take the first step in saving lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.

Join the Employee Wellness team to help fundraise and/or participate in the walk!

    Monday, May 4
    Join Mindfulness Coach Daron Larson for a short mindfulness meditation exercise at the beginning of each month to improve your ability to focus, conserve energy, and feel more present.
  • Movement BINGO
    May 1-29
    It's time to GET MOVING! Complete a BINGO to earn 10 Tier 2 points or the whole board to earn 20 Tier 2 points! Submit completed boards to wellness@kent.edu by Friday, May 29.
  • Do What You Love Challenge
    June 1-29
    This challenge, in support of the Alzheimer's Association, is designed to support brain health through joy, connection and purpose. Doing what you love isn’t just enjoyable — it’s part of caring for your brain and your quality of life!
