Road work on Summit Street will stop for the next few months, but it will resume again in the spring as the two-year project comes to a close.  

Applications for the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) will be accepted from Jan. 22-Feb. 19. Faculty members are encouraged to share this information with their students. Students interested in developing critical thinking skills, working one-on-one with a faculty mentor, exploring their chosen career field and more should apply.

As we begin the new semester, the Office of the University Registrar asks for your assistance in making sure that all students are properly registered for their spring 2018 courses.
   

�Ը������� University will hold its 16th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

The lower floor of Main Hall was familiar to Carl Linder, a military veteran, firefighter and EMT, before he ever enrolled at �Ը������� University at Stark.

�Ը������� University President Emerita Carol Cartwright, Ph.D., and her husband, G. Phillip Cartwright, Ph.D., have made a $1 million estate gift that will create scholarships at �Ը������� to support students who wish to engage in the arts.

Ellen Daniels, lecturer in marketing and entrepreneurship at �Ը������� University, earned a 2017 Outstanding Teaching Award because of her unique teaching style and love for sales.

Angela Ridgel, Ph.D., an associate professor of exercise science at �Ը�������, has designed a bicycle specially tailored to Parkinson’s patients. The bike is based on a tandem bicycle model – a bike ridden by two people.

Lae'l Hughes-Watkins, University Libraries, Department of Special Collections and Archives, presented “Post Trauma: Archiving Black Pain in a White Space” at the Arizona Historical Society Symposium titled “Decolonizing Archives” in Tuscon, Arizona, on Oct. 22, 2017.
